I am an independent consultant for Gurr Johns, one of the largest, oldest, and most trusted independent advisory and appraisal firms in the world.
I hold a MA with Distinction in Art History and Conservation of Cultural Heritage, with specialization in Contemporary Art, from the University of Genoa, and a MA in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute, London. My dissertation “The Black Atlantic: Contemporary African Art Diaspora”, a market analysis of mid-career artists with Afro origins, including Julie Mehretu, Wangechi Mutu, Yinka Shonibare CBE, and Kara Walker, was published, as an article, on Cultural and Organisation Journal, Routledge, Taylor & Francis group. I completed academic courses in Emerging Art Markets and Marketing the Visual Arts.
Before focusing my activity on art advisory, I co-founded and directed Brand New Gallery in Milan, listed in the best 500 galleries worldwide as per Modern Painters Magazine. In addition to my role of Sales Director, I curated exhibitions of established and emerging artists, including Nina Chanel Abney, John Currin, Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Firelei Baez, Nathaniel Mary Quinn, Oscar Murillo, Yinka Shonibare CBE, Jonas Wood, Rose Wylie, Lisa Yuskavage, Allison Zuckerman.
During my years working as a gallerist, I have created and developed an art management software for galleries, collectors and institutions.
I founded my own advisory and appraisal firm in 2021
in order to satisfy the individual collecting needs of my clients,
providing a full spectrum of customized services and operating
with the utmost discretion and transparency.
I am an Accredited Member of the Appraisers Association of America and of the CRSA (Catalogue Raisonné Scholars Association), New York. My appraisals are compliant with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), the highest professional standards promulgated by The Appraisal Foundation.
I am an Appointed Expert and Appraiser for Modern and Contemporary Art for the Chamber of Commerce of Milan.
Combining deep expertise in the global art market and an established network of galleries, dealers, auctioneers, and collectors, I assist individuals and corporations in collection development, management, and appraising.
I travel extensively and attend a variety of international art fairs such as Art Basel, FIAC, Frieze, Armory, Art Brussels, Tefaf, ADAA. I regularly visit galleries, museums, and artists' studios worldwide, to provide the best and most knowledgeable access for my collectors.
I live in Milan, Italy, and I speak Italian, English and Spanish fluently. I love traveling, collecting, and reading books, and I am an Ashtanga Yoga practitioner.
